Three (& a Half) Reasons to Watch "Eastwick"

It's definitely not Halloween yet, but the witches have come to town! Well, the three middle-aged sculptor, journalist, and nurse, that is. In the new series Eastwick, Rebecca Romijn and a few other tantalizing cast members bring forth a fresh and funny outlook to a supernatural drama. Here are some ways to convince you to start watching it if you already haven't!
Reason #1: Roxie Torcoletti [Power = premonitions]
She's beautiful, she's confident, she's sexy, she's... quirky??? Well, she's owns her own little shop in which she sells her works of art (which aren't necessarily that great), scrimping for money while her house falls apart around her in desperate need of repairs, yet is still obstinate enough to turn down an offer of $50,000 because her client is so full of himself. Oh, and it just so happens that she is unwillingly attracted to him. Even though she has a young, great looking lover who is perfect in all sense except that of age. Hmm, is there a reason why ABC airs this show after Cougar Town??
Reason #2: Joanna Frankel [Power = can hypnotize men]
She's a hot-looking Asian chick. Nuff said. Just kidding, there is more to her than that. She's so unbelievably hilarious! As a under confident reporter, she doesn't have the guts to stand up to her slimy boss, clams up in front of her mega-crush (and mega hottie) coworker/photographer, only to blurt out obscenities to him because she's so nervous, and gives the most comical expressions after spilling coffee onto her boobs. Yet, when she finally is comfortable enough to let her hair down and take off those chunky glasses, she transforms into this "goddess" who can make any man obey her command. This actress may be the hook that will reel your boyfriend/husband into watching this show with you.
Reason #3: Kat Gardener [Power = can control forces of nature]
This actress is one of the reasons why I think of Desperate Housewives when I see this show. She is a dedicated nurse/mother/wife, but does nothing for herself, only to become as destructive as Storm in X-Men after receiving some rather elemental powers. You can practically hear all the women in America cheering when she causes her lazy, good-for-nothing husband to tumble out of his hammock by causing an earthquake.

So what's the "half" reason to watch this show, you ask?

Well, it's all the male eye candy that just so happens to come along with the show! First you have your debonair if not arrogant Darryl Van Horne, Will St. David who is like a modern day Clark Kent with his nerdy glasses and chiseled good looks, the fresh and sprightly Chad, who is the cause of some near cradle robbing with his boyish smile, and finally this guy!

Hey you Twilight fans, do you recognize this man? His name is Jack Huston, and he is currently filming the role of Rosalie's husband Royce King II in the Eclipse movie! Well, he is really going for all the supernatural stereotypes, because he's also in Eastwick. He plays a Johnny Depp look-alike who Roxie foresees as murdering her one day, but hints at also somehow being intimate with him, too. Interesting fact: he is the nephew of Angelica Huston.

So there you have it! These three & a half reasons should be more than enough to start watching this series, if not at least enjoying a lovely hour with some lovely ladies. And men.

Here is my Second Design!

I've been having more fun tinkering with Photoshop, and came up with this new design for the CafePress New Moon design contest! I'm going to enter this into the Jacob Black category.

Do you know where this quote is from? Maybe only the die-hard fans will get it!

You can also view my design here.

Check out this New Moon Cake!

I know there are a ton of Twilight-themed cakes out there, but this one blew my mind away! I love the colors, and backgrounds. Best of all is the little wolfie on top! Thought I'd share it with you... there are more Twilight cakes at the Twilight Guide site.

"The Host" Coming to the Big Screen

I haven't read the book (will now), but Stephenie Meyer just posted on her website that "The Host" will be made into a movie! It seems like it will be independently made, and not produced by Summit Entertainment. No word on the release date yet. Yet another book to add to my reading list...

CafePress has a New Moon Store!

If you have ever purchased merchandise from CafePress, you know that you'll find the most unique Twilight gifts than anywhere else! Best of all, the designs are fan created. So the Twilight fanatics out there like me can always discover apparel and gifts that are totally designed and geared towards us!
Twilight has always been a leading theme and bestseller at CafePress, so now they have opened up a New Moon store on their site - here you'll find various items all having to do with the second sequel. And since there are hundreds of designs to choose from, you'll be sure to find one that no one else has!
If you're graphically savvy, or just want to express your creativity, I suggest becoming a shopkeeper on CafePress. It's free, and you can design and purchase your own custom merchandise. Not to mention it's loads of fun! And right now is as best time as any, because they are having a New Moon Design Contest. The winner with the best New Moon design will win a $250 American Express gift card as well as $100 CafePress credit to buy whatever your heart desires!
I've entered this design above that I just came up with today - I don't expect to win, but thought I'd just share it since I had fun making it. The whole storyline of New Moon begins with Bella's papercut, so I just went along with the idea! You can find my design at 808TwilightVal.

Over Two Hundred Midnight Release Tickets Sold at Regal Dole Theaters!

I'm so excited! I bought my advance tickets for the New Moon movie premiere today! The lady at the Regal Dole box office informed me that over two hundred were already sold. When I inquired about whether they would be opening up another screen to sell more tickets, she said she wasn't sure and that it would depend on how many reels they received. Well, I have mine just in case! I'm salivating just looking at them!
Notice that there is one for Friday night, too? Yes, I will be returning to see it AGAIN a mere 19 hours later!!!
HEY.... I just noticed that my midnight premiere ticket has the title "Twilight" instead of "New Moon"??? Does anybody else's say that? Uh oh...

Consolidated Ward Theater Sells Nearly a Hundred Presale Tickets!

Since I was at the movies this past weekend, I figured I would get an inside scoop on the amount of tickets sold so far for the midnight premiere of New Moon.
I was at Ward 16 theaters, and the helpful gentleman at the box office checked and informed me that a quarter of all tickets for one screen had already been purchased as of Saturday night! That brings the number to about a hundred tickets sold just for that location alone! This is a really good sign considering that the movie doesn't come out for another two whole months.
For those debating on purchasing tickets, there probably isn't a cause to worry just yet. At last year's Twilight midnight premiere at Dole theaters, there were in fact two screens debuting the movie. Most likely what the theaters will do is simply open another screen to accommodate the crowd. But if you're anything like me, you won't be able to wait to have that hot little ticket in your hand! Hee Hee...

Edward vs Stefan: Vampire Face-Off!

As a Team Edward fan, I'm disappointed to announce Stefan as the winner!!
But as much as I debate and fuss over it, no matter how you look at it a black leather
jacket beats a peacoat every single time...
