Update for Twilight KickOff Contest

Our first Twilight writing contest is now officially over! Although we were unable to reach enough people and receive any entries, our efforts were not wasted as of yet:
We have found a home for our generously donated Twilight items at Shriners Hospital for Children located here in Honolulu. They will be part of goodie bags that the hospitals create for incoming patients. For those of you who may not be familiar with Shriners, they are a pediatric hospital for young patients that provide medical services at no cost to families.
Not only are we planning to donate Twilight items, but some new books as well! These will also be used in patients' goodie bags or in the hospital library.
We're thrilled that our efforts are still being put to good use, and thank you once again to all our contributors!
If you're interested in donating any new Twilight products or new books to our contribution towards Shriners, please contact us at bellainparadise@hotmail.com by August 9th, and we'd be happy to to add them to our donation!

Bella in Paradise

Hi, Twilighters! Just wanted to let you know that me and a couple of my Twilight pals have created a group called Bella in Paradise. It is designed for kids in Hawaii who love books, and we encourage them to write through cool contests.
Our Twilight KickOff Contest is starting today, with the grand prize winner receiving a Twilight goodie bag plus a $10 gift card from Borders! There will also be Twilight goodie bags for 2nd & 3rd Place!
You can check out the contest rules here, and be sure to let the Twilight loving kids in your life know about it, too!

What to do after Eclipse fever has died down???

It's happened before: the buildup to a Twilight movie, anticipation sets in, a climactic movie premiere experience, crazily seeing it a few more times, then..... what?

What can you do if you still have Twilight fever and nothing to feed on?

Not to fear, I've come up with a few ideas to quench your thirst:

1) Re-read Breaking Dawn
It's not too early to get into the fervor of this last Twilight film being broken into two parts. There are several sites already set up, such as breakingdawnmovie.org

2) Better yet, re-read Eclipse!
Compare it to the movie.

3) Buy some Eclipse merchandise
I backed up my Civil War Jasper mini crush by purchasing his bookmark from Suncoast

4) Make plans for the Twilight convention coming to Honolulu
If you haven't bought your tickets yet now may be a good chance. Consider booking a room at the hotel with special kama'aina rates and make a Twilight slumber party out of it! It's also fun to plan which actors you'll take photos with. Don't forget there's a wolfpack package...

5) Play some fun Eclipse games with your friends who have seen the movie
I recently decided to continue on the frolicking by asking each of my TwiBuddies their favorite quote from Eclipse. Write them down, put them in a bag, shake it, and read each one out loud while guessing who submitted it! It's a great way to learn more about your buddy.

If these options haven't helped, then the only thing I can suggest is getting into Justin Bieber............

Welcome to Twilight Class!

We all know that Twilight is a well loved series, but did you also know that it could make you smarter? (Just look at that "Defining Twilight" book that helps prepare you for the SATs.) Well take this topic and let's stimulate some of those brain cells that have been inactive from being at work and staring at the monitor too long! Let your thoughts flow, and voice your opinion - even if you haven't read the books, you can still discuss it if you've seen the movie!

Topic: Is Bella Swan a Modern Day Heroine?

She may be the most self-sacrificing character we've read in awhile. But is she heroic in her own sense? Do you look up to her as woman? Btw, this question is not being posed in reference to the drug - although Edward does compare her to it!
