Three (& a Half) Reasons to Watch "Eastwick"

It's definitely not Halloween yet, but the witches have come to town! Well, the three middle-aged sculptor, journalist, and nurse, that is. In the new series Eastwick, Rebecca Romijn and a few other tantalizing cast members bring forth a fresh and funny outlook to a supernatural drama. Here are some ways to convince you to start watching it if you already haven't!
Reason #1: Roxie Torcoletti [Power = premonitions]
She's beautiful, she's confident, she's sexy, she's... quirky??? Well, she's owns her own little shop in which she sells her works of art (which aren't necessarily that great), scrimping for money while her house falls apart around her in desperate need of repairs, yet is still obstinate enough to turn down an offer of $50,000 because her client is so full of himself. Oh, and it just so happens that she is unwillingly attracted to him. Even though she has a young, great looking lover who is perfect in all sense except that of age. Hmm, is there a reason why ABC airs this show after Cougar Town??
Reason #2: Joanna Frankel [Power = can hypnotize men]
She's a hot-looking Asian chick. Nuff said. Just kidding, there is more to her than that. She's so unbelievably hilarious! As a under confident reporter, she doesn't have the guts to stand up to her slimy boss, clams up in front of her mega-crush (and mega hottie) coworker/photographer, only to blurt out obscenities to him because she's so nervous, and gives the most comical expressions after spilling coffee onto her boobs. Yet, when she finally is comfortable enough to let her hair down and take off those chunky glasses, she transforms into this "goddess" who can make any man obey her command. This actress may be the hook that will reel your boyfriend/husband into watching this show with you.
Reason #3: Kat Gardener [Power = can control forces of nature]
This actress is one of the reasons why I think of Desperate Housewives when I see this show. She is a dedicated nurse/mother/wife, but does nothing for herself, only to become as destructive as Storm in X-Men after receiving some rather elemental powers. You can practically hear all the women in America cheering when she causes her lazy, good-for-nothing husband to tumble out of his hammock by causing an earthquake.

So what's the "half" reason to watch this show, you ask?

Well, it's all the male eye candy that just so happens to come along with the show! First you have your debonair if not arrogant Darryl Van Horne, Will St. David who is like a modern day Clark Kent with his nerdy glasses and chiseled good looks, the fresh and sprightly Chad, who is the cause of some near cradle robbing with his boyish smile, and finally this guy!

Hey you Twilight fans, do you recognize this man? His name is Jack Huston, and he is currently filming the role of Rosalie's husband Royce King II in the Eclipse movie! Well, he is really going for all the supernatural stereotypes, because he's also in Eastwick. He plays a Johnny Depp look-alike who Roxie foresees as murdering her one day, but hints at also somehow being intimate with him, too. Interesting fact: he is the nephew of Angelica Huston.

So there you have it! These three & a half reasons should be more than enough to start watching this series, if not at least enjoying a lovely hour with some lovely ladies. And men.

The Supernatural Fall TV Lineup

I hardly watch tv unless VH1's "My Antonio" is on, or unless I have CNN on in the background. But after catching a glimpse of some of the new shows starting this fall, I might be putting in more tube time!

The Vampire Diaries: Oh, Hello?... Just the name alone is enough to want to make you watch this series. Throw in a bunch of good looking actors and - really, need I say anything more? I saw the pilot episode last week, and it looks promising; although it veers away from the book quite a bit from what I've been reading so far. Paul Wesley plays Stephan (whose name I like already), and that dude that got killed off early on LOST plays Damon, his evil brother who tries to steal away the main character Elena. Talk about a bizarre love triangle.

Eastwick: You remember the movie, right? "Witches of Eastwick?" With Michelle Pfeiffer and some other two ladies? This new show is based on that movie, which is actually based on a book with the same title by John Updike. It stars Rebecca Romijin, and some other two ladies. Starts 9/23 on ABC. Is this going to be like an older "Charmed"?

Three Rivers: Hey, it's the "Moonlight" guy! (Not to be confused with "Moonlighting", which is a different show in all possible ways.) So I guess Aussie Alex O'Loughlin's doing ok! Sorry, the sexiness factor goes down quite a few notches when his role as vampire-detective switches to medical doctor... but here's an interesting factoid on the actor: he was once considered for Daniel Craig's role as James Bond! I don't know if that would've really worked, unless 007 became Vamp007.

Enjoy these shows if you catch 'em, and let me know what you think of them!
